Thanksgiving has come and gone, and I hope each of you spent time with family, friends and those you love. I also hope you had a chance to read:
"Faith, Hope, Love And Gratitude". In that light, I would like to take this time to thank each and every one of you who comment on the Q&A's. You are helping others more than you know. THANK YOU!
When I first started working on this site, my dream was not to do just another pure advice site; there were plenty of those out there. Rather, I wanted to form a setting where others could chime in, relate their own experiences and provide hope for those with a problem or who were going through a tough situation.
I envisioned caring individuals getting involved -- a community -- where people were helping people by providing insight and support.
The official launch of this site was January, 2009. In its infancy we averaged one to two questions a week, with 20 visitors a day. Now, two and a half years later (my, how time flies!) we get well over a thousand views a day and post at least three letters a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. They come in from around the world, and as long as they are appropriate, every single one will be answered.
Whether you realize it or not, just the fact that someone extends an arm in friendship, even if it's someone you don't know, can be a lifesaver. The value of interpersonal connections within our lives is too often minimized.
We all are busy, and sometimes it seems like no one cares. And yet here on this site, you take the time to offer your support, understanding, humor, personal experience and.... yes, the occasional touch of sarcasm.
To the asker of the question, this support is every bit as valuable as my advice. In today’s world, many people claim that no one cares anymore. This site is proof that nothing could be further from the truth. The comment section of this blog shows that consideration, compassion and support are alive and well.
I spent Thanksgiving with my family, and told them how thankful I was to have them in my life. Now it's time for me to tell my cyber family thank you, as well. You are truly appreciated. Without each of you, this site would not be what it is.
